Storms in Teacups

I’ve been working with my mothers old linen tea towels for a couple of years now.  These are replicas of the blue and white china cups that my mother had in her kitchen and of which I have none.  I made a mould usiing modrock and gauze bandage with cellulose paste and then covered with bits of  very old worn out tea towels.  They are ridiculous in a way.  Given the way I mmade them it was impossible to do super neat stitching but with all their imperfections that just how I like them. They say everything I’d want to about daily life sipping tea around my mothers kitchen table….
