As a child probably one of the first things we create when we work with clay is a bowl and I seem to have been collecting and making bowls, nests and containers for as long as I can remember.
There is something endlessly comforting about returning to a form that is both open and containing at the same time. During my training and practice as an art therapist, where the concept of containing and “holding” is so central, these works have taken on a new significance.
